Music - can't live with out it - but what to do about it?! We have an old Roger Miller album now on CD that we all like to listen to. The kids wanted to listen to something on the way to church - So when Lar hit the play button here comes Roger Miller singing Chug a Lug, Chug a lug , makes you want to holler Hi-De-Ho, burns your tummy don't you know... "okay lets put some praise and worship on." We don't need to be singing about drinking right before church - and we aren't even having communion this morning so we deff. won't be drinking in church. So instead we listened to some great Praise and Worship on the road. This morning before school - Alli and I shared a nice breakfast together. She still had some cereal in her bowl but often times she will listen to Bible class while she finishes up. I unload the dishes and get the kitchen clean while we both listen to Bible class together. "Why don't you get your books and get started" She goes to the cabinet to get her home school books and all the while is singing "Ain't got no cigarettes ah, two hours of pushin broom - then back to - Ain't got no cigarettes - in her best country music voice. I didn't say anything but was thinking how music really impacts our thinking. When we were kids we listened to several songs about Daddy leaving. Glen Campbells You Better Sit Down Kids will always be a childhood memory. Thank you Lord that our Daddy never left. I never had any reason to worry that he was leaving. (Mom don't go feeling guilty about anything) Alli has since sung several hymns with her on line class and all thoughts of having a cigarette and pushin a broom are gone. Although if she wants to push a broom around the kitchen floor that would be fine with me.
