You can imagine my surprise when I looked out today to see my new Yellow Hibiscus tree is really 3 different colors! Yellow smellow I say when you can have a rainbow. The hummingbirds are quite impressed as well and have been humming around. I think I might go get another. Thank You Lord for this Beautiful Surprise.

Scored at the Library Book Sale
Oh Baby, I hit the jack pot at the library book sale today. I didn't buy any books - how can that be - but I did find a ton of kids magazines. I came home with Boys' Life, National Geographic Kids, Discovery Kids, Highlights, and Ranger Rick. Now we are talking hours upon hours of fun and interesting reading for my three - plus me. And you know Lar will be interested as well. After school I was out watering the garden and when I came in this is how I found Nick and Alli. Alli had all the magazines in their proper piles and Nick had some Boys' Life mags near him. They were each pouring over them and telling the other what they had read. Mom heaven. Thank you Lord for the gift of the Library Book Sale.

Major construction underway
Plans have been formulating in Lars head for quite sometime about leveling this side of the yard. I haven't been too gung ho about it because there are so many things we need or would like to do. But.... every time in the past when he has had a Grand project idea it has always turned out great -even if I couldn't really envision it prior to the hammer hitting the nail. I got involved in all this because this new level space is where our above ground pool is going to go. So two dump truck loads later and alot of shoveling and racking we still have two dump truck loads of dirt to move. Lar thinks we will need 1 more load. He is in hog heaven - although he had to really work hard all day to get the retaining wall built before the dump truck got here. I will keep you posted as this develops.

Take Me Out to the Ball Game
The challenge was made. Our family against the Failia family in a game of Softball. We met last night at Friendship park for the big game. The Fast and Furious Failia's were no match to the Lighting Lipperts. That is for the first 4 innings anyway. But in the last two at bats they were able to take the lead and finish ahead of the Limping Lipperts. We had a great time at the game and enjoyed alot good banter back and forth as game day approached. We ended the evening at Wendy's visiting and laughing over some Frostys and Frys. Next up...I think Im going to invite them over for a night of line dancing. We will invite our neighbors across the street, Carol and Mike to come as well. Carol is the one that has been teaching us to line dance on Tues. and I know she would really enjoy teaching our families.

Yikes! Alli lost a foot
Alli lost a foot of hair this morning. She has been wanting to get her hair cut for a couple of weeks now. After trying to keep it combed and looking good on vacation Lar and I were all for it. We checked on line to see how much we would need to cut to donate it for cancer patients. We needed 10 inches but cut 12 plus to make sure we had enough. Then she wanted her bangs cut too - thats a little out of my comfort zone but we managed and she loves her new look and do. She looks quite abit older with the shorter hair and just now asked me if she could get her ears pierced. Just hold the train - I didn't know when I cut her hair this morning I was also going to say good bye to my baby. No ear piercing until she's 12!

Home Run Honey is Back
That's right - hot of the presses - Home Run Honey turned the game around. The Diamond Diva came to play Tues. night. Mississippi madness broke out at the crack of her bat as the ball went sailing over 3rd base. Honey was a burr as she rounded the bases and didn't look back until she tagged home plate. Her team, that has some Bad News Bear tenancies, were instantly pulled from their rut as Honey came home to her team mates cheers. They had new hope, they had inspiration, they knew they could do it. Honey didn't only shine at bat she was hot on the pitchers mound as well. Flashing the boys her beautiful smile all the while striking them out. The final score 12-7 - chalk up a win for Honey and the cubs.

Pensacola in our rear view mirror
This will be my last travel log for our Spring Vacation. Can we have a moment of silence as we say good bye to a wonderful time in our lives. sniff - sniff... Okay I think I can continue. We left Orlando Sat. morning headed to Pensacola Beach for the night. It was about a 6 hour drive. We were all happily surprise as we got closer to the beach and our hotel. Pensacola Beach is a thriving beach town with great restaurants, shopping and fun. We checked in and then headed down to the beach before sun set. We have never seen so many huge sand dollars in all our born days. We didn't find a whole one but if you put the pieces together these sand dollars were 6 or 7 inches round. We had a blast walking the beach collecting all the beautiful shells. What an awesome blessing that was - we love to comb the beach and then to find so many great shells... it was just really fun. Sunday morning we went to church at Pensacola Christian College and enjoyed seeing the campus and attending services for Easter Sunday. Today Lar set sail for Victoria BC and the kids and I have enjoyed our last day of Spring Break at home. Back to school tomorrow.... sniff - sniff

Hold on to your seats
Yesterday was a wild ride - we spent the day at Aquatica water park and then headed over to Seaworld for the evening. The kids really wanted to go on The Kraken roller coaster. There was no way I was going but Lar was all to happy to ride. It is a two mile coaster that takes you up side down several times and all around. When they got off Lar said he needed a place to sit down and cry. He didn't but said it was something else. The first picture is them getting ready to go up side down. There other two are after the ride just having fun. Yesterday was our 20th Wedding Ann. and we had a great day.

Downtown Disney Day
Here are a few pictures from our day yesterday. We spent the morning at Downtown Disney shopping and enjoying all the sights. Nick and Lar spend several hours at the huge Lego store there. The girls found a place where they could decorate their own Princess crowns. Makayla wore hers all day with great style. We got there about 10am and made it back to the hotel about 3pm. I dropped everyone off for swimming and headed over to the outlet stores. It didn't take long - I found a great sale at the J. Crew store and then I was headed back to the hotel to join everyone in the pool. Last night we went back to Downtown Disney for dinner and dancing. We all line danced for an hour or so and then looked around at more shops. Today we are headed out to Aquactica - Sea worlds water park.

Travel Journal Day 3
Today was Sea World - it was 63 and windy so we bundled up ( remember were Southerners) and headed out for a great day. We went to some really great shows and just had a wonderful day together. You are in luck - my camera didn't charge last night like I thought it was so I didn't get to take the 100 or more pictures like I would normally. Tomorrow is shopping and relaxing at the hotel. Should be nice.
